The Rosary Maker’s Prayer Dearest Mother to you we pray, Bless the Rosaries we
make today; With loving hands we

we further plead.
Reach for them with

O.L.O.L. Rosary Makers began in May 2009 after a request via the Catenian
Associatian for Rosaries to be sent to Deacon Tony Cunningham in the
Northern Territory for use in his missionary work. 400 unused Rosaries were collected from parishoners
but 2000 were needed. How do we fill the need? I contacted,
through a friend, the Rosary Makers of Kiama parish to obtain details on
how to make Rosaries. Kiama parish generously donated their current stock of
750 Rosaries to the cause as well as information on the source of supplies.
From this seed the call went out at all masses on the weekend of 16/17th May
2009 for Rosary makers or cash donations. 40 parishoners volunteered to
learn to make Rosaries and over $400.00 in donations to buy materials was
collected. In June 2009, 11Kg of Rosaries were sent to Deacon Tony in the
N.T. As well as this, Rosaries have been given to Catechists in Baulkham
Hills, Kellyville and Auburn parishes for distribution to their classes and also sent to
missionaries in New Guinea, Ghana, Kenya and St Judes school in Tanzania. Rosary making will also soon
be introduced to Our Lady of the Rosary school at Kellyville for year 5 and
6 students. Rosaries have been distributed to prisoners at Silverwater & Parklea prisons and to residents
at Aminya and The Willows nursing homes.
